Coed Recreational Soccer
Fall 2025
Youth girls and boys soccer program designed for players in Kindergarten – 8th grade who want to improve their foot skills and compete in scrimmage games to prepare for league play at either the recreational or club soccer level.
Skills & Scrimmages
Youth soccer players have the option of participating in skills (practice), scrimmages, or both. Sessions are open for soccer players in Kindergarten – 8th grade. See below to find your child’s division. All skills groups and scrimmage teams are coed. Training sessions and scrimmages take place indoors on artificial turf fields. Soccer cleats are acceptable. Turf shoes are recommended.
Age Groups & Ball Size
u6 – Kindergarten, size 3 ball
u8 – 1st & 2nd grade

u10 – 3rd & 4th grade, size 4 ball
u12 – 5th & 6th grade, size 4 ball
u14 – 7th & 8th grade, size 5 ball
Players may participate in a higher division. Two divisions may be combined for skills and scrimmages.
Skills
Our unique training curriculum blends player development with fun. Skills Training will focus on fundamental skills such as dribbling, 1v1 moves, passing & receiving, shooting, attacking/defending, and more, which will be taught through drills and small-sided games. All training sessions will be run by our qualified soccer coaches. Athletes need to bring a water bottle and wear shin guards. Soccer ball optional. 1 practice shirt included in fall soccer registration.
Training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all divisions.

Fall Scrimmages
Take place on Saturday afternoon.
Scrimmages span 55 minutes and are played on our artificial turf fields.
Scrimmages are practice games that do not count towards standings. Coaches focus on the tactical side of the game and may stop play to make corrections.

Acceleration Speed School
Our Acceleration Speed School program is designed to focus on Running Mechanics, Jumping, Agility, Coordination, Confidence and More. This program is for kids ages 7-12 enrolled in Fall Soccer at Naperville Yard. With this program, you get 8 sessions with an 8 week expiration and the program costs $135.
Speed School is offered Monday-Friday 4-5pm or 5-6pm and Saturdays 9-10am

Players are grouped by school grade.
Divisions:
- U6: Kindergarten
- U8: 1st & 2nd grade
- U10: 3rd & 4th grade
- U12: 5th & 6th grade
- U14: 7th & 8th grade
Unless a Girl’s Program is offered, players are not separated based on their gender.
Athletes can play up in the next division, but not down.
Example: a 2nd grader can play in U10, but a 3rd grader cannot participate in U8.
- Scrimmage games are friendlies that do not count towards any standings.
- There are no set teams; Coaches change the teams each weekend.
- Formats and field sizes for scrimmages vary.
- Naperville Yard soccer coaches will coach and officiate scrimmages. Coaches focus on the tactical side of the game and may stop play for coachable moments.
No, however, players who are new to soccer are encouraged to attend both practices.
- On the first day of practice or first scrimmage day.
- Players receive 1 shirt for the whole season.
- Additional shirts are $10.
